We lived in Brooklyn when this was on Broadway with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. We continually saw amazingly great reviews of the play in all the media. Every person that saw it just raved.
And then there is the film. This moved slowly, was uninteresting, and was an awful translation of the Broadway Musical to the stage. I can’t believe anyone that saw this film would even consider going to the Broadway Musical if in town.
After putting together another Broadway flop, down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock teams up with timid accountant Leo Bloom in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on the world’s worst show.
