Few things are more frustrating than being over an hour into a great movie and having a power outage. So this movie was watched in 2 parts. Most on Wednesday and the rest on Thursday. Amazingly, it didn’t interrupt the flow to the point of where I wasn’t right back into it.
Watching the relationship between Bri and Toby grow and disintegrate and come to a shaky resolution was worth the time spent. The rapport and dialogue between the two seemed natural for where they were both coming from. And just when you would start to get comfortable with them, they were thrown into a situation that made either one of them or us uncomfortable for them. The scene at the house in Texas could have been really off putting if Toby hadn’t been so cool about it all. But when they get to Bri’s families house in Phoenix is where you really see all relationships strained to the point of where you knew everything would break.
Toby and Bri were two characters worth exploring. This is one movie where I want to know what happens after the filming ends with these characters with no hope of a sequel, unlike so many films where you know there will be a sequel film about characters they never took the time to make you care about.
Worth the watch. Beware, there is some nudity. Though Toby has a nice butt. Must be nice to be so young.
