This was a touching film about the toll that Alzheimer’s disease can take on a couple.
The inner cutting of the lead up to the hospitalization, mixed with the hospital footage (especially of her connecting with someone else and not knowing her own husband) and the footage of the connection the husband finally made with someone else is heart wrenching.
Well done, well acted, well written, gripping and sad. It was hard to not tear up.
And Julie Christie is possibly one of the most beautiful women in the world.
A man coping with the institutionalization of his wife because of Alzheimer’s disease faces an epiphany when she transfers her affections to another man, Aubrey, a wheel chair-bound mute who also is a patient at the nursing home.
