Project Jay (2006) aka 11 Minutes

September 4th, 2009 · 1 Comment

We didn’t start watching Project Runway until the second season, so we had to catch up on the first season. We enjoyed it and especially like Jay McCarroll and Austin Scarlet. So it was nice to see Jay do this film and get a show at Fashion Week.

This documentary shows the issues involved with being a young designer: money, PR, money, designs, finding help and money.

I won’t give away the end, but I think it is probably the most common ending for most young designers that try to launch their own clothing line. I can say, I liked a great deal of the clothes he had on the runway.

Actually, “Project Jay” is an hour-long special about Jay McCarroll about his life right after winning “Project Runway,” having to design Heidi Klum’s Emmy dress.

“Eleven Minutes” is the feature doc you saw about his first Bryant Park show.

If you liked that one, you should check out “Project Jay.” It’s made by the same people.
