Sweet story of how 2 guys finally become a couple. The ups and downs, problems, stories, committment issues, alcohol, casual sex, action figures, families and friends.
Unless you are a homophobe (yep, guys kiss in this film on the mouth), this is a great story about a relationship and the people in it growing as a result.

“All Over The Guy” is a contemporary romantic comedy about the quest to find the “one” when “the one” doesn’t know he’s the “one.” It explores the unlikely pairing of two 20-somethings thrown together by their respective best friends in hopes of igniting their own romance. They do everything they can to NOT fall in love, but finally they overcome the dysfunction of their parents and surrender to their hearts.
In this house there are two actors we will watch in any film: Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Walken. I am not sure why, we just do.
So when we came across a film from the 90′s with Christopher Walken playing the Angel Gabriel, well, we had to watch. And it had Eric Stoltz too (looking extremely dishy). We should have known that Walken would not be playing the expected loving Gabriel that was God’s first angel. No, he played one angry and vengeful angel. He grabbed people from the brink of death to be his chauffeur (and let them die horribly), he targeted a child for death, he lit other angels on fire. He was a real bastard.
The basis behind the film is that there is a war going on in heaven between the Angels that are faithful to God and the ones that are pissed because God likes humans more than angels. Satan even steps in to help the humans with this one so as to avoid problems with his hell.
All in all an intriguing watch with plenty of twists. thoroughly enjoyable if you can call angels killing people and Indian exorcisms enjoyable. I was a bit disappointed with how Amanda Plummer’s cameo was wasted, but I guess this is 18 years old, so maybe she was just someone that needed a part. I would have like to have seen more from her.

The angel Gabriel comes to Earth to collect a soul which will end the stalemated war in Heaven, and only a former priest and a little girl can stop him.
Fun, funny, sad, great natural dialogue. The attitude the Julie Delpy has towards her country men is enlightening. In this film, all french men are cads that do nothing more than think about sex. Her American boyfriend is a sarcastic, bitter, whiner of a man. Yet he is far more lovable than any of the french men in the film. I can’t think of another actor that could have delivered some of the lines as well as Adam Goldberg. Amazing comedic timing.
I will never take a cab if I ever get to Paris. This movie paints them all as people you would never really want to sit in a car with.
“You are so mean, and yet so right.” (Marion on the lie Jack tells to the Davinci Coders)
Great cat. Great film. It was on the list to watch eventually, but thank you Shelia for the recommend. I am glad we watched it.
