Finally!!!
I could not seem to catch this film on cable for YEARS. We finally found it a bit edited and cut, but I finally got to see it.
I am a fan of the Die Hard series. I considered at one point going to just rent them all on DVD to see them back to back, but figured it would show up.
Great action, pretty faithful use of NYC. I hate those films where you can make it from Washington Square Park to Grand Central Station on rollerblades in 5 minutes (yes, I am talking to you Hackers).
Again, it does the thing I appreciate most in the Die Hard films… the “hero” actually looks like crap by the time the film is done. He can’t outrun bullets or not bruise when he gets punched in the face.
Nice heist, “fun” wild goose chase tasks.

John McClane and a store owner must play a bomber’s deadly game as they race around New York while trying to stop him.
Spaghetti Western meets Film Noir meets Bruce Willis. Enjoyable film with a high body count. For some reason I am loving the voice over on films right now. Of course, I have been lucky that the voice over actually lends to the story instead of telling it.
Christopher Walken shows up as a expert shooter with a Tommy Gun, a giant scar, and a bit of a sense of humor. My favorite line from Walken in the film “I don’t want to die in Texas. Chicago, maybe… but not Texas. You can meet me there if you like.”
Enjoyable film if you like stylized films, Westerns, or Bruce Willis.

A drifting gunslinger-for-hire finds himself in the middle of an ongoing war between the Irish and Italian mafia in a Prohibition era ghost town.
Hey, I wonder if the bad guy is the one dressed all in black with high collars and gloves on? Nothing like foreshadowing the ending the first time the full grown character comes on screen.
I like Bruce Willis. Not sure why, I just like him in films I see him in. He doesn’t ever seem to be the bad guy, but he never truly seems to be the good guy either. Maybe it is the multi-dimensional thing, but it could also be that he takes a punch, and actually looks like he has been punched. (note: I have not seen Hudson Hawk, so this opinion is obviously formed without that black cloud of a film.)
In this film, Willis plays a man that doesn’t appear to be able to be hurt except by drowning. Survives train accidents (sole survivor), survives brutal car accidents (fakes injury), never been sick. And he gets convinced to use his powers for good. Nice premise. I just wish the first time Samuel L. Jackson appeared on the screen you thought he was going to the sidekick or the M and not the evil dude.
Enjoyable enough watch. Probably one of the last M. Night Shyamalan films I can say that about.

A suspense thriller with supernatural overtones that revolves around a man who learns something extraordinary about himself after a devastating accident.
Amazingly predictable fun. Explosions, intrigue, guns, and computers! Woo Hoo. And the fact that the good guy(s) look like they take a beating after all they have been through is nice. The cg was ok, the stunts unrealistic, the story paranoid, and fun was had by all who watched and were looking for a big dumb action movie.

Visually amazing film. Want to see it in HD when I have a chance.
