I had one of those days where I just wanted a good movie with explosions. Instead I got possibly one of the most boring films based on a violent video game. Slow moving, boring, I personally wanted to shoot the characters who I couldn’t give a crap about.
And who casts Mila Kunis as a “Russian Mafia Assasin” and gets a way with it?
Avoid this.

Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a police detective whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin out to avenge her sister’s death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.
An Edward Burns film. Sweet, in NY, about finding love. Edward Burns is in it. Pretty much a typical Edward Burns film.
The story of college sweethearts, both writers, that find each other again, 12 years after they break up at the end of college. Both in relationships, neither happy with how they make a living.
Sweet, a nice story, pretty basic. Lots of scenes in great locations in the Village, (Greenwich, West and East) and Soho. Amazing house in the Hamptons.

The story of Abbie Hoffman. Great performances by Vincent D’Onofrio and
Janeane Garofalo. Though I still prefer Janeane’s performance in The Cable Guy.
Gritty, but interesting.

Five years after Yippie founder Abbie Hoffman goes underground to avoid a drug-related prison sentence, he contacts a reporter to get out the story of the FBI’s covert spying, harassment and inciting of violence they then blame on the Left. The skeptical reporter interview’s Anita, Hoffman’s wife, a single mom on welfare in New York City; Hoffman’s attorney, Gerry Lefcourt; and others. As they talk, we see Hoffman’s career in flashbacks, from early civil rights organizing through the trial of the Chicago Eight. While underground, as mental illness takes its toll, he meets Johanna Lawrenson, and an odd family develops: Abbie, Anita, their son, and Johanna. Will vindication ever arrive?
