Great voice cast in this sweet film about “Monsters” that defeat the aliens and save the world. The 3D thing is a bit overdone and really irrelevant when watching it on a television. But none of the effects were bothersome.

When a meteorite from outer space hits a young woman and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.
Silly buddy picture. Fun, goofy, worth a watch for mindless entertainment. They never explain the chicken. WHY don’t they explain the chicken?

A Las Vegas-set comedy centered around three groomsmen who lose their about-to-be-wed buddy during their drunken misadventures, then must retrace their steps in order to find him.
I was trying to find something positive to say about this film because sometimes I worry that my reviews are too cynical or mean, but the only thing I could come up with is André Benjamin is a cutey.
This film felt far more sophmoric than any Will Ferrell film we had watched before. Too many scenes like the poker scene where grown men just sit around a table saying “bad words” and shooting a gun.
Almost everyone in this film was better than this film. Woody Harrelson was possibly the only good performance.
Disappointing. I expect more from this group and hope I get it next time.
It was nice to see they did use actual footage from Flint, MI. Nice to see them getting a couple of dollars from the entertainment world since the auto industry has left them so high and dry.

Jackie Moon, the owner-coach-player of the American Basketball Association’s Flint Michigan Tropics, rallies his teammates to make their NBA dreams come true.
A parody of the music bio pic done intelligently, with ‘smart’ dialogue, silly situation, and a great pace. This film was fast paced without leaving you out of any of the jokes if you are aware of the genre it plays with. They were able to keep the character nieve enough to make him likable, but aware enough to make him dispicable when it was relevant. Great cameos from dozens of actors. My favorites were Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Jason Schwartzman, and Justin Long playing the Beatles. Jane Lynch as usual, gives a surreal performance as a television reporter.
A very fun film. Well written. I liked it. Warning: more penis than one may consider necessary.
