Everytime I see a film with Heath Ledger in it, it makes me sad. He transformed himself in every role.
The story has been told before in documentary form, but this was a bit more dramatic a take as no one needed to rely on old 8mm footage, television interviews or faded memories. They could just make it what they wanted. Great cast of young actors, many who have been seen in plenty since.
And bravo to the make up artist for Rebecca DeMornay. It takes some real talent to make her look that bad.

The film follows the surf and skateboarding trends that originated in Venice, California during the 1970′s.
This film was as good as everyone (yep, even the critics) said it was.
Engrossing tale and life lessons based on the Dylan mythology/story. Amazing performances by everyone that showed up in this film, and there were a lot of familiar faces here. I enjoyed the music, the stories. I was entertained and moved. The only thing I didn’t like about the film was being reminded how great Heath Ledger was as an actor and knowing I won’t be able to see him be brilliant like this again.
I want to curl up with this film again on a rainy afternoon. And luckily there have been plenty of those.

Ruminations on the life of Bob Dylan, where six characters embody a different aspect of the musician’s life and work.
Saw this in the theatre. Digital Projection. Wish we were a couple hours closer to an IMAX screening.
This film was dark, suspenseful, interesting and didn’t feel long as 2.5 hours. I still liked IronMan better though.
Ledger was disturbing. If you didn’t know it was him, you would have never known. The voice, mannerisms, and look was so not like what we have seen before. A complete transformation. And who can resist a villian walking away from a hospital in a nurses uniform in full insane splendor? I can honestly say he is missed.

Heath, you shall be missed.
