You wake up someplace that you don’t recognize, you realize something tragic has happened, you have no idea who you are, everyone around you is alive, but damaged and unconscious. And the story starts from there.
Five men are locked in a warehouse with no way out, no idea how they got there initially and slowly start to remember who they are and what happened. Who are the bad guys, who are the good guys?
So many interesting twists and turns you have to stick around. Things are revealed slowly, but not too slowly. I found myself really wanting these guys to stick together and beat out the guys coming to “finish the job”.
Not the ending I would have expected and that is one thing that really made this film work.
The acting was great, the tension that built as memories came back was gripping.

This film was listed as a comedy in the summary. Only problem, it wasn’t funny. It was actually sort of sad watching this dysfunctional group of 20-somethings risk friendships for a one night stand, fall hopelessly in love with people that couldn’t care less about them, and believe anything the boy with a pretty smile says.
The dialogue was stilted. The characters cookie cutter. The situations typical. The film, not interesting. The cast does consist of a whole bunch of people you see a lot now, but here they are so young.

This movie could have made a great statement about commercial culture and how it is running/ruining us as a society. We are becoming to easily controlled by media and advertising.
Instead it tried SOOOOO hard to be Lynch-esque that the message they appeared to have been trying to make got REALLY lost. Instead devolving into too many odd angled shots, creepy lighting, empty boxes, machines that live, games that talk, cops that are more frightening than the real killer and overpriced groceries.
I can’t recommend it. It wanted to do more than it did. I wanted it to do less than it was.

Charming film about a pie maker that gets knocked up by her possesive somewhat unstable husband played by Jeremy Sisto (because who else in Hollywood has that description down as well). She falls for her OB/Gyn, makes more pies and finally gets a fresh start. Cute, fun, a nice watch. Nothing stellar, nothing offensive, just a nice film.

Jenna suddenly finds her life has taken an unexpected turn when she discovers she’s pregnant with Earl’s baby. But the unhappy pregnancy changes Jenna’s life as she becomes determined to win the $25,000 pie contest prize money and begins an affair with her handsome, married gynecologist that gives her confidence and an attempt at happiness.
Interesting technique of talking to an audience, but not really talking to THE audience watching the film. A cute fairy tale where Jeremy Sisto isn’t really as disturbing as usual….he is sort of sweet, but don’t worry, he is still odd.
