I often like Adam Sandler. For the most part the films he does are funny enough and have a bit of sweetness going for them. We all know Sandler films that do not run like this, but I am going to ignore them for my own film mind health.
This film was formulaic, you knew what would happen pretty much and the happy ending was no surprise. But I enjoyed this film. It was a fun watch with a wonderful interplay between Sandler and the kids. Even Russell Brand was amusing.
This is not a comedic tour de force, but a nice family film with a smidge of goofy. Worth a watch when you just need to be entertained and have little interest in following a heavy plot.

A family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true.
I have to watch films with George Clooney in them. He is just damn likeable as well as nice to look at.
This film was witty, the pace was quick enough to not leave one thinking something should have been cut, and the chick was smart, funny, quick and pretty (enough). I didn’t even mind that the film was about football.
The relationships between the main characters was tight and fun. The fight scene between Clooney and Krasinski near the railroad tracks was quite amusing or at least the lead up to it where they both determine they should only be hit in the face. The initial meeting between Clooney and Zellweger had some great back and forth and kept that old movie feel of that building sexual tension through gesture and conversation that is lacking in so many movies today.
A film about a different time, using techniques from early films. Pleasant, fun, I’d catch it again on a rainy day.

The captain hopes his latest move will help the struggling sport finally capture the country’s attention. Welcome to the team Carter Rutherford, America’s favorite son. This new champ is almost too good to be true, and Lexie Littleton aims to prove that’s the case. A cub journalist playing in the big leagues, Lexie is a spitfire newswoman who suspects there are holes in Carter’s war story.
A depressing talkey film about alcoholism, AA, recovery, and self righteousness. Great performances by Uma Thurman, Jonathan Pryce, and Paddy Considine.

Jude Law looking all Jude Law-ey as a disgruntled recently paroled youth that steals crap. Most fires on the side of the road since Mad Max.

Lone group of teens, led by recently released joyrider and his disenchanted Belfast girlfriend, strives to leave their mark on “a British city in the near future” while attempting to avoid a rival gang. Scenes of joyriding and ram-raiding, which attempt to portray the addictiveness of fast driving whilst also showing the downside (the effect on the community and ultimately death)

In 2054, Paris is a labyrinth where all movement is monitored and recorded. Casting a shadow over everything is the city’s largest company, Avalon, which insinuates itself into every aspect of contemporary life to sell its primary export — youth and beauty. In this world of stark contrasts and rigid laws the populace is kept in line and accounted for.
A probable contender for worst film we have watched this year.

Great film about the life of Cole Porter. Best music. Kevin Klein gave a great performance. Ashley Judd played a very understanding woman with grace.
