Milk (2008)

I understand why this film won Oscars. Great story, great acting, well paced, visually interesting. I cared about these people. I didn’t want the ending I knew was coming to happen.

Penn was understated and really inspiring in this part. But then he is a really great actor.

And after vowing to never watch another Van Sant film after Last Days, I am glad we gave this one a watch.

Young Augusten Burroughs (Cross) absorbs experiences that could make for a shocking memoir: the son of an alcoholic father (Baldwin) and an unstable mother (Bening), he’s handed off to his mother’s therapist, Dr. Finch (Cox), and spends his adolescent years as a member of Finch’s bizarre extended family.

Strangers with Candy (2005)

did I make it through this thing? Being a fan of Stephen Colbert and really liking Amy Sedaris is no reason to watch this. I guess if you could make it through the tv series, you could make it through this.
