Do you ever wish you could just steal a car and go on a cross country road trip and the person who owned the car seemed pretty much ok with it?
In this film a young man whose mother dies decides to search out the long lost half brother he barely knew to let him know. So he steals a car at a car wash and starts on a journey to his brother’s last know address. While on the drive he is called by the owner of the car and she often keeps him company while on the journey.
This is a small slow indy film that never drags. The characters are interesting, the scenery is great, and each scene leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.
I would recommend this. Great soundtrack.

Woody Harrelson meets the cast of the Larry David Show and Arrested Development to make fun of televised Professional Poker tournaments. If you have ever watched them on television and thought, this is sort of silly, then you will enjoy this film.
I liked the ending. Not expected. Richard Kind was hilarious as the amateur that never played a game of poker off the computer. No idea what anything meant, tells, bluffs, all new to him. How he made it to the final 6 is probably the most absurd thing in the film.

An improvisational comedy using a handful of actors playing characters competing in an actual poker tournament.
The moral of this film is either “a doormat is bound to eventually explode” or “true love is out there”. I guess it depends on how you look at the film. The nicest thing about it was that no one was murdered or died. First film of the weekend that didn’t happen and one of the main reasons it was chosen to end the weekend.
Jane is one of those “have to take care of everyone” people. I had a friend like this and it made it impossible to go to her vacation house. It wasn’t a vacation for her because she was continually making sure everyone had anything they might need and it was no vacation for me because I was continually being fussed over. Now some people enjoy that and take advantage of people that can’t say no. This poor girl appeared to have participated in 27 wedding that she pretty much planned. By all accounts, she would have been a millionaire if she had a wedding planning business in NYC.
After multiple people tell her she can’t say no, her sister finally pushes her too far and she sabotages the wedding. A wedding that shouldn’t have happened anyway, but still a low move. But I sort of respected her for it.
Of course there is a happy ending. After all, it was a big chick flick Hollywood film.
My favorite scene was the montage of all of the hideous bridesmaid dresses Jane had saved. It is amazing how bad so many bridesmaid dresses are. I have only stood up in one wedding and the dress was bad. An emerald green princess-ey number with butt bows and giant sleeves. But of course, the bride said, “and it is probably something you could wear again”. One friend did…as a halloween costume.
