This was a nice predictable romantic comedy. You knew the minute you met the roommates what would happen, but the journey getting there was nice to watch.
Does 30 seem a little young to have a suicide pact if you haven’t found true love? Don’t most people make the cut off 40 these days? Of course, 40 is the new 30 and this movie is over 10 years old, so maybe that was it.
A very young Scarlett Johansson appears in the film as one of the art students/advice getters. Some sweet kids, some messed up adults. Bwick? Fun part played by Ben Stiller. I think the only part I have ever enjoyed him in more is Zoolander.
This isn’t a great film, but it could be date film. Especially if someone is trying to giver a close friend a hint I suppose.

Joe and Lucy are roommates and best friends. Lucy, whose love life is embarrassingly dull, convinces Joe, who is infatuated with a neighbor he’s never met, that if they don’t have stable romances within a month, they must jump off the Brooklyn Bridge.
An excessively long version of a television episode. The same old characters with the same old hang ups, bad fashion, great shoes (that you couldn’t walk around in in NYC without crying – so everyone takes cabs), and self absorbed nonsense that brought them together in the first place.
No surprises here. We watched the entire series – often just to see what clown outfit Patricia Fields would dress Carrie in next – and the film didn’t disappoint in that aspect. What the hell was that growing out of her head when she was wearing the wedding dress?! I thought it was funny that Miranda eventually asked.
And seriously, a whole vacation that does nothing but set us up for a poop joke.
spolier alert: there is a happy ending. Yeah, no surprise there. EVERYONE gets what they think they want. When does that really happen? Only in Hollywood.

A behind the scenes look at a movie company overtaking a town. Silly, fun, unflattering portrayal of Hollywood and Politics.
Why was I watching a film that is over 8 years old? Well, because Alec Baldwin was in it. I am a fan of 30 Rock and find the Hulu commercial he is in to be the best commercial I have seen in the last year. So I couldn’t resist a Baldwin film AND it had Philip Seymour Hoffman too. I had to watch.
Baldwin’s part is small and a bit predictable as the leading man with an overactive libidothat believes there are no consequences for his actions.
Hoffman got the girl. Totally unexpected actually. Things seemed to be going well. That often means that things will blow up for many of his characters. I was glad.
A good film. Less talky than most Mamet films. Held up well. Lots of familiar faces.

A movie crew invades a small town whose residents are all too ready to give up their values for showbiz glitz.
If only this film had been …. uh, smarter.
How many times have we seen the smart people don’t know how to be nice or social thing? Only someone with compassion or who is far less smart can bring them out of their shell and make them able to function in society. Please. Not everyone with an IQ over 150 has Auspergers.
So messed up father begets messed up daughter. But how did the son in between become normal? Ellen Page does give an interesting performance as possibly the most tightly wound teen to ever be on the big screen.
For some reason I never got that the ‘smart people’ were really all that smart. They just used the opportunities given them when possible (like studying, etc) instead of spending their time stoned and wandering from job to job. Some smart people do that too. And there are some stupid people with really great jobs.
So this film meanders from one stereotype to another until it is able to wrap things up in a wonderful giant family bow with babies.
Yeah, whatever.

When you know it is bad, why do you watch it? Do you really need to see EVERY film Brendan Fraser has been in no matter how much you like him? These are questions the Davis’ need to ask themselves before they decide to record George of the Jungle if this film was any indication.

did I make it through this thing? Being a fan of Stephen Colbert and really liking Amy Sedaris is no reason to watch this. I guess if you could make it through the tv series, you could make it through this.

A prequel to the series featuring Jerri Blank, a 46 year-old ex-junkie, ex-con who returns to high school in a bid to start her life over.
One of those films where the girlfriend tries to fit into a family that is too close and not open to outsiders (also often know as eccentric). You try to hard, they get tighter, things go wrong, hilarity ensues, and all is fabulous at the end.
