Sometimes watching an older film (over 10 years old) where a great deal of the people in the film have become much more famous can be odd. You see them not only near the start of their movie career, but also so much younger than you are used to seeing them.
The film was pretty good, but took so long to get to the actual heist. Way way way too long. We were 90 minutes in before the heist took place and it only lasted for mere minutes. The set up and showing of the plan lasted less time that the time spent in Vietnam and even the fight between Anthony and Cutty. I would have like to have seen more heist and less ‘Nam.
An ok film, nothing spectacular, nothing disappointing. Just a film with some good actors starting out.

Diabetics beware! This is the sweetest film you may ever see.
I had no idea that if you were born from 2 musicians you could be a musical prodigy and hear music in everything. It is actually a wonderful concept, and hopefully that doesn’t follow to the child of 2 sanitation workers that may see garbage in everything.
This is a good film, with wonderful music. The thing I found oddest about the film was that I had never heard of it. Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Freddie Highmore, Terrence Howard and Robin Williams in a film, and I don’t ever recall it being in the theatre. Maybe it is because I live in the middle of nowhere, but I though myself somewhat aware of the film market as I watch about a movie a day.
A great way to spend a stormy Sunday afternoon. You can’t help but feel good when this is done. That is unless you tried to get into Julliard with a long process of interviewing and got cock blocked by some homeless kid found in a church basement or really care about how the geography of Manhattan is portrayed in films. Because they really take some extreme liberties with that.

A drama with fairy tale elements, where an orphaned musical prodigy uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents.
This film should have been called “The Stupid One” or “One NYer’s Fantasy”. There is nothing brave about putting yourself in stupid situations and then pulling out a gun. How do I get away with killing 7 people and grazing a cop with a bullet at his request? This film could have been so much better. Great cast. And I know it is a movie, but shouldn’t there be more reality in it then the fact that everyone in it was pretty much of the human species?

I like the whole different stories coming together into one, but it is starting to be overused. This was a very heavy film.

Several stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles involving a collection of inter-related characters, a police detective with a drugged out mother and a thieving younger brother, two car thieves who are constantly theorizing on society and race, the white district attorney and his irritated and pampered wife, a racist white veteran cop (caring for a sick father at home) who disgusts his more idealistic younger partner, a successful Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with the racist cop, a Persian-immigrant father who buys a gun to protect his shop, a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter who is afraid of bullets, and more.
