Do you ever wish you could just steal a car and go on a cross country road trip and the person who owned the car seemed pretty much ok with it?
In this film a young man whose mother dies decides to search out the long lost half brother he barely knew to let him know. So he steals a car at a car wash and starts on a journey to his brother’s last know address. While on the drive he is called by the owner of the car and she often keeps him company while on the journey.
This is a small slow indy film that never drags. The characters are interesting, the scenery is great, and each scene leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.
I would recommend this. Great soundtrack.

Cute film, happy ending, angsty parts in between as people struggle to “grow, not grow up”. It wasn’t a bad film, it was actually pretty ok. I would consider watching it again.

How did we miss this film when it first came out? How did it take us 6 years to find it?
Amusing with great cameos from The Hoff to Gene Simmons to Henry Rollins and more. Silly story about a guy that is humiliated throughout high school and finally ends up a new school where he reinvents himself. Everyone should have this opportunity in life. I went to a small high school (127 in graduating class) and was so excited to go away to a big university where no one knew me and no one knew everything about my life. I was pretty much just there in high school, so I can barely imagine how awful it must be to be stamped as someone that is little more than a punching bag when they are noticed.
This film took all the bad things that happened to him and made them positives. Of course he wins in the end. That is how it should be. We should all have a chance to see the popular guy that tortured everyone in high school working at a car wash and fat.
The scene of the arrival to the new school is not to be missed. From the entrance in the “truck” to the pulling of the fire alarm – fun, funny, silly, amusing.
I had a great time with this film. If I came across it some ugly Saturday afternoon, I would watch it again.
And DJ Qualls is much cuter than the movies give him credit for. Ileana Douglass took quirky to a whole new level.

Small movie about a small town ‘thief’ in New Hampshire that thinks he is much more threatening than he is. I hate it when films advertise someone as being a second lead in a film and they show up in about 4 scenes. I understand the want of a producer to associate a ‘name’ with his film, but listing Michael Rappaport as one of the leads was, at best, mis-leading. This film was ok. Nothing spectacular. I think the stand out may have been the kid that was the narrator. I would have liked to have seen more of him.

It seems like the more you go to school for somethings the less you are able to be in touch with those you server. A good listener goes far, farther than those with all them thare fancy degrees sometimes. Nice film, great dialogue, happy ending, and Hope Davis playing someone that is sad and depressed.
